Embarking on My Camino: A Journey of Discovery and Reflection

As I sit down to write our first blog post, the excitement and anticipation of our upcoming journey fill me with a sense of wonder. Though we’ve yet to take that first step, the essence of what awaits us compels me to put pen to paper.

Our adventure will follow in the footsteps of countless pilgrims who have traversed the Camino de Santiago—a path imbued with history and spiritual significance. While we won’t be following the original route, our camino will begin from Porto in Portugal and lead us to Santiago in Spain.

The Camino de Santiago, known as “The Way of Saint James” in English, has been a pilgrimage route for nearly two thousand years. Its significance transcends religious boundaries, attracting seekers of all backgrounds to embark on this transformative journey.

Our route may vary, but our destination remains the same: the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Galicia, Spain, standing as a beacon of hope and renewal for pilgrims from around the world.

Over the span of 14 days, we’ll pass through 14 towns, covering a total distance of 260 kilometers on foot. It’s not just a physical challenge—it’s an opportunity for personal growth and reflection.

As we prepare for this adventure, I’m reminded of the words of Saint Augustine: “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” Each step along our camino will unveil new chapters of this book, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the stories of landscapes, people, food, wine, culture, and, most importantly, ourselves.

Join us on this voyage of discovery and reflection as we embark on our camino—a journey of adventure and self-discovery
